I have spent the morning installing apt and am VERY impressed with it. I
manually deleted all the files in /var/lib/pgsql. When I reinstalled

following, like far too many other documentation for open source software,
assume that you installed postresql from sources. That is why they told you
to put stuff in rc.local for it to startup automatically at bootup. They

I have a newbie problem that is driving me nuts. I installed RH9 with
postgres and PHP installed. I installed pgPhpAdmin and was getting
errors telling me I didn't have postgres support, even though the dbx
section from phpinfo() told me I did have postgres support. After hours
of newsgroup searche
