In my understanding, no the iso is not updated. Once the OS is released than
it only gets updated once you install and update it yourself.

the 10.10.1 has not yet been released, so if have you the ppa's on, you can
get up to date. It is on Julien's very long list of things to do in the new
year.The 10.10.1 will be, as they all are a bug fix release.
