Lubuntu has this action that I don't see in other flavors. If desktop
icons/launcher is clicked to open it - the launcher/icon stays
highlighted (in focus?) after the associated app opens. This has caused
unwanted multiple windows to open and many things to be deleted I don't

Installed it. It didn't show up in the menus after rebooting. Opened it
from command line and it opened with an error. GUI did appear though but

How do I create a custom launcher on the desktop. I have firefox 3.6.19
in the /opt dir and it starts OK with "$ /opt/firefox/firefox &" I'd
like a desktop launcher for it. In Xubuntu I'd just right click and
there's create launcher option but don't see equivalent way in Lubuntu.

Hi, Using Lubuntu 11.04.
I put xfce4-clipman in my rc.local file hoping that would make it start
when I boot. Though I installed this program with Synaptic it does not
show in any menu and does not autostart at boot as I would like it to. I
can start it via command line or with run Alt-F2...

Using Lubuntu 11.04. Installed Wine 1.3 and it does not show up in the
menu. Also installed Xfce Clipman and it does not show up too. What is
the fix? Some installs (via Synaptic) show and some don't.

The notification daemon was telling me I was connected and telling me a
file downloaded. Really annoying and I uninstalled it. This is why I
want to use Lubuntu - so I can get away from unnecessary fluff that
disturbs my work flow. But I noticed that the Gnome power manager
depends on the

Whenever I install Lubuntu 10.10 w/a windows partition side by side, after the
1st update the windows is gone from the grub menu.
Only happens with Lubuntu and happens consistently.

Just my user experience w/10.10. The install did not see my XP ntfs partition
and Grub just listed Lubuntu. All distros I've tried always "see" it and list
it in Grub or Lilo, but Lubuntu 10.10 installed from the iso didn't. I fixed it
