A quick thought, a friend long ago requested that card games not be added to my
remaster of knoppix, as there is some link to gambling. His religion is against
gambling. It probably is not a big deal for many of us. But I think it wouldn't
hurt to leave out card games.

My apologies. It seems that I have missed out some bits of the discussion as I
comb through my mails from the newest to the oldest. Ignore my last mail.

I think it is alright to do a release after Ubuntu. In fact, there is a small
advantage to do so. We avoid all the "noise" from Ubuntu in the the other
websites and blogs.

Btw I just saw gnome-vlc
https://launchpad.net/gnome-vlc
I haven't got time to prod it further It seems to be a day old. If it is
light enough we should KIV it for future releases.

I think there may still be use cases for email clients. For example, my less
tech savvy colleagues access their company email via Microsoft Outlook. For me,
I just redirect it to my main email account.

Hi everyone,
Good to see the sudden spike in mailing list activity. I definitely need time
to follow the threads.
For those unaware, we have had 3 IRC meetings to discuss the goals and
applications of Lubuntu. The logs are at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu/IRC%20Meetings. The objective of the

Hi folks,
I just came across this article, that I thought was a good read.
http://celettu.wordpress.com/2009/04/22/xubuntu-904-wheres-the-beef/
Perhaps we should keep these opinions in mind for Lubuntu. One feature I can
think of in Ubuntu that we may wish to have is asian language support

Hi all,
I have contributed Dave's list to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu, along with
some of my personal suggestions and comments. I believe that we are looking for
light applications with gtk as the primary dependency.
I am not extremely knowledgeable about the applications, so do point out
Hello all,
I understand that Mario has registered lubuntu.org. Does anyone have any
updates to the plans for the site? ie hosting, forums, wiki, blog etc?
Cheers,
Luther
PS. #lubu...@freenode has been registered by hyperair. So feel free to start
dropping in :)

Dear all,
I would suggest we use the existing resources - ubuntu-wiki,
lxde-wiki, ubuntu-forum, lxde-forum. I believe it is best to get the
work on the actual distribution going instead of investing time to set
up new systems, that have to be administered.
Best Mario
