Did you try Jean-Pierre's solution? Typing lxdm should do the trick
apparently. If it doesn't then I don't know anything else and hope the
better knowledgeable people will help you further.

I wasn't able too to run the live-cd in every machine i tried, but in the
machines that the live-cd didn't started, i was seeing the terminal: simply
typed lxdm and lubuntu started... try that :)

Which version did you try, alpha 1 of Oneiric? It has a known issue with
that and you only need to command "startlubuntu" if I'm not mistaken.
Irregardless if my solution worked, we'd like to know which version it was.
