I noticed that on Lubuntu 14.04, there is now two applets side by side
on LXPanel to manage keyboard layout.
In fact, there is the Keyboard Layout Manager, applet introduced with
Lubuntu 13.10, and the IBus Preferences icon in the systray.

Edubuntu has a system that mirrors all *buntu pages into that area. It is
that students using Edubuntu have benefit to all l / x / k etc flavours :)
