I just tried with tasksel and somehow that gave me a working system as
opposed to apt-get'ing lubuntu-desktop, not sure why, maybe something else
changed, but this time I had no ibus running and fcitx input was working
fine.

I'm trying to setup network install for my desktops and would like to use
http as opposed the usual nfsroot approach which I already have working but
is being cumbersome for a number of reason.
I have successfully migrated the installation of ubuntu-server to http and
using d-i live-installer
