You ****should**** be able to get 12.04 installed on a G4 . . . I have an
iMac 800 MHz and it had 512 MB RAM and I managed --with online help-- to
get the NV driver installed . . . and it works more or less quite
well--just issues with "Suspend" not working.  You should be able to search
the Ubuntu Apple User Forum to find direction, possibly the thread "Testers
wanted for PPC 12.04" thread . . . ???

@Israel:  I tried to test the 14.04 LiveDVD on the iMac and I vaguely
recall that it wasn't too successful, I think I posted here about my
results, which I think it was a low resolution screen that wasn't able to
fix with Yaboot parameters.  And then, the potential lack of NV or fbdev
drivers . . . .  Possibly the radeon iBook will test out and might be
"do-able" without major time consumption . . . .
