I've read that the Spiga has a resolution of 1024x600. That's the same as
my 10" Toshiba NB305. My computer runs lubuntu without a problem, although
from time to time I need to adjust window size.

Both LXDE and XFCE (from lubuntu and xubuntu) have icons and font size
configurations... But 4.8" for a computer?? That is pretty small... You
might give a look at Android x86, I guess this is much better on this case,
in IMHO
