Josh, FWIW, I have been through a very similar issue. My story from where you are: I ran fsck on all the targets until it was happy. I mounted the MGS, then the MDT. Then I mounted all the OSTs EXCEPT the one that would cause kernel panics. This let me get at all the data that did not have anyt
