[Lustre-discuss] Interoperability info

2014-01-14 Thread Massimo Sgaravatto
Hi I am not able to find in the documentation an "interoperability matrix" among different Lustre versions. In particular I would be interested if Lustre 2.4 and Lustre 2.5 clients can work with Lustre 2.1 servers. If I have a look at: https://wiki.hpdd.intel.com/display/PUB/Community+Lust

[Lustre-discuss] Issue with kernel 2.6.32-431

2014-01-14 Thread Massimo Sgaravatto
Hi In our site we are running Lustre 2.1.6. I have now problems rebuilding the client with kernel 2.6.32-431.1.2.el6, which is the latest available version of the Kernel for Scientic Linux 6.4. As far as I understand the issue is the one documented in: https://jira.hpdd.intel.com/browse/LU-42

[lustre-discuss] Problems moving an OSS from an old Lustre installation to a new one

2015-07-27 Thread Massimo Sgaravatto
Hi We are migrating from an old Lustre installation composed by 1 MDS and 2 OSS to a new Lustre 2.5.3 installation. For this second installation we installated from scratch a new MDS + a new OST and we migrated the data from the old Lustre system). Problems started when we tried to "move"

[lustre-discuss] Lustre doesn't use new OST

Hi We had a Lustre filesystem composed of 5 OSTs. Because of a problem with 3 OSTs (the problem is described in the thread "Problems moving an OSS from an old Lustre installation to a new one"), we disabled them. Now we want to reformat (mkfs.lustre --reformat ...) these 3 OSS and make them
