You're confusing Steinbeck's tales told about two idiots, if I can paraphrase Shakespeare. Lenny in Of Mice and Men has enormous physical strength. The ursine Johnny Bear in The Voice of Johnny Bear can reproduce overheard conversations, exactly imitating the speakers' voices. And there is

I find the idea preposterous. RT This is not a crazy question in my opinion. Lachrimae was a very popular tune and had many surviving arrangements -- this lends me to believe somebody would have done a dance version! Also the fact that Flow My Tears exists really makes me think that the tune

I find that a pieces character changes quite a bit depending upon the tempo it's played -- and Lachrimae has been played at many varying tempos on record. So, what character/tempo are you speaking about? Also, if it's played in more strict time, it feels more like a melancholy dance than if one is

fret diameters

Dear All, I'm having a problem with buzzing frets. Before I try fixing it, I'd like to make sure that I know what the diameters should be. I have a 62cm mensur lute (Larry Brown's 8-c Hans Frei model), and my notes tell me that the diameters should be: 1.2mm, 1.1mm,1.0mm,0.95mm, continuing down

The diameters need to be what they need to be to give you the right action. The precise numbers vary from one lute to the next. 1.2 is maybe a little on the thick side compared to many instruments, but if it works, it's what you need. If this is a recent problem, your fret sizing should be OK.
