Some more points ( a collective answer): 1- Pittoni can be played solo, like Kapsberger, and in case the continuo player is not used to theorbo etc, it's even better not to have one. 2 - I think some of the sonatas are very nice and worth playing. Pittoni apparently foresaw Arto's comment ( ?!)
