Dear Rainer and All, Just for information: the string band is 75mm at the bridge and 39mm at the nut. On lutes with more courses, the spacing for the top six courses gets narrower at the bridge but stays the same at the nut. Of course if I'm making a lute to commission I can vary the spacing
