Come to think of it, I may have done it many times the way Sean does.
After all, when the fret has worn a bit, it is essentially a smaller
gage than a fresh un-stretched fret of the same nominal gage. Why
don't I have them on now? Laziness and no fret gut. (I've got to
order some.)

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to say thanks for the answers posted on the forum and for the
private emails I have received on my questions.
In looking at the advice offered, it appears that:
1. there are are a lot of options and,
2. they don't often agree.
That said, I think that I can summarize
Dear Charles, Arthur, Mathias,

Dear Manolo,
according to Dick Hoban's "The Art of the Lute in renaissance Italy" the
first is an intabulation of a vocal piece by da Crema 1546(Vol 3:
Intabulations) and the second is by da Crema (Vol 2:Dances) as well.
best wishes
Charles

Dear lutelisters,
I have the photocopies of two pieces in italian tabulature, both
facsmiles, same aspect:
Et don bon soir (this is a chanson)
Sal ditto el Giorgio (this is a... saltarello, obviously)
but no idea about where they come from (book, intabulator...)
Can somebody help me?

Excellent David!
So, this is Zamboni? I really must look into his music, - if Rob says it is
easier than Weiss. I think you just made it look easy!
Well done.

Well done, David! What a nice piece. I've read through Zamboni's music and
thought it well worth playing and hearing - like Weiss but not as hard,
although some of the pieces do require a 14c archlute, but are playable,
sort of, on a 10c. Anyway, thanks for that and well done!
Rob
