throughout the German baroque. The Gaultier/Mouton La Belle Homicide shows up in the
Augsburg ms. right alongside Falckenhagen, Hagen, Kleinknecht and Haydn.

What's interesting is that there's more than this adaptation by Weiss
(London, BL Add. 30387 fol. 66v). There is another in Paris, BN Res.
How would you compare the 11 course, 12 course, 13 course bass rider lute
and 13 (or even 14) course swan neck lute to each other?

- Do you think 13c. bass rider could be an acceptable substitute to 12c.
