I'll second that! It's not difficult read both French and Italian tab and
it is self defeating to turn Italian tab upside down because you may
eventually have to unlearn everything you've got used to.
German tab is a bit more difficult.

Yes, it's the part that houses the tuning pegs.

Yes, ponticello (or ponte) means bridge.
