Hi Matthias, The liuto I made was 64/93cm and I tuned it to g' at a'=392, so the top string was f' at modern pitch. You could potentially tune a semitone higher, but with a double top string this seems too difficult. I used all gut except the low basses from the 5th course downwards: 1 .40

I forgot to say - it is important to thin the KF strings - perhaps to half their original diameter - where they go through the bridge and wrap around themselves in front of the bridge. This not only makes them easier to tie but improves the sound by making them more flexible in this region.

Kudos to those who are stringing attiorbatos correctly and not using single strings. The liuto attiorbato is possibly my favorite lute instrument. It is the most versatile of -all- lutes. I have two at the moment and I'm planning on converting my ten course into a 14 course attiorbat
