Just got back from Pennsic (medieval reenactment event in Pennsylvania) and wanted to tell of the lute goodies I found! I spent time talking with all the early music people I could find, including one lutenist and a bandura player! I thought I took a picture of the lute player, but I cannot find it. Here is the bandura player -- http://www.flickr.com/photos/lady_halla/6039449505/ On the last day I was there, I made the acquaintance of a composer, Glenn, http://www.flickr.com/photos/lady_halla/6039449873/ who played his tune "The Annoyed Cat" for us, and then gave me a copy of his tune, in Spanish Lute Tab! I promised him I would learn to play it before next year. I was really surprised to see a lute at Pennsic, because the weather is so variable, it can be hot, cold, wet, humid, dry, dusty... I would worry about taking my lute. A lot of people have "travel instruments" for that exact reason. the Oud players I spoke to definitely had "travel Ouds" Makes me think I may have to get at least one more lute, for traveling of course! That's all for now. Halle
