I read it wrong: The score says "Lituo", not "Liuto"!

These are wind instruments. Brass, to be precise, but there are some
conflicting theories about what was meant exactly.
Our hardcore-hip group is to play BWV118 later in the season, here's
the theory on what the parts were written for according to our man
