A good starting point is Stefan Lundgren's "Baroque Lute Companion". Stefan quotes many primary sources and gives illustration (not to mention the many pieces in increasing difficulty). But - contrary to the renaissance I don't know of any explicit "tutor" (introducing into baroque playing) so
