About 2 weeks ago my carbon chanterelle started fraying after 5 of so
years
on. It eventually broke where it frayed, but it was still in tune until
breakage.

How does carbon compare with nylon or nylgut for pitch/breaking point. My
lute is 63cm and nylgut is over its break tension

My teacher says that if you want longevity, use carbon.
