on the face of it (heh-heh) i would say that beards are very un-HIP. judging by what i've seen in most of the paintings and illustrations, lute musicians sould be clean shaven with shoulder length hair and have a mean age of about 22. how many of those are there? - stubbley (most mornings) bill
