I'd edit your lxc-start-ephemeral script to run lxc-start with '-l info -o /tmp/ephemeral-debug', and see if anything helpful comes up in that file. Admittedly if the container's init is starting chances are there will be nothing helpful in the logfiles... It seems unlikely that incomplete

I have an upstart script that starts an ephemeral container running a oneshot buildbot slave. The slave runs one build, then exits, which makes the ephemeral container terminate; upstart then restarts the ephemeral container. Fairly often, when the container is coming up after being restarted,
