I also got an error when I used the XeTeX typesetting engine in
combination with the Sweave module.
The same error or a different problem?

It's a different problem. I get the following error messages when I use the
XeTeX output format (under document settings - output) in combination

Yes, it is pdflatex. No crash, but the error message comes up almost
