I have started to believe the double word bug is deeper than just double
words.
It seems as though what ever is causing duplicating words can similarly
remove words (i.e. like it cuts a word out of the sentence).
e.g. "The quick brown dog jumped..." might become "The quick dog jumped..."

bug 9418 is about a crash which happens during mathml generation after

We should probably add a note to INSTALL (once we document qt5 compilation
there).

All of sudden shortcuts in dialogs (master branch) are not working.
1.) Open a file
2.) open advanced find
3.) try to change to Settings with Alt-e (under english env)
instead of the settings dialog, 'e' is entered in the Find field.
This is with Qt5. (It used to work)
