I noticed that the caret is differently placed after some characters.
For example, this gives the impression that there is a space between an
emphasized f and the caret, see attached screen capture. Previous
versions of LyX did not show this. I consider this a regression. The
selection highligh
I find emphasis is an often used style. And even there is both a toolbar
button and the status bar indicating whether it is activated, I find an
indication of emphasis mode via a slanted caret (cursor) very helpful.
So, I suggest some more simple face-lifting:
