I had/have no idea what these *.inc do or mean, and thus it took me a
while to get to the real problem. That problem was: this std*.inc breaks
the use of revtex4.layout (with cvs, that is).

So try to include stdfloats.inc into revtex4.layout instead. What you're
now doing is overkill (and might have unwanted effects).

It seems related to Figure floats or figure insets.
Any ideas where that comes from?
