I have been looking at the lyx-tips site and couldn't find what I'm
looking for. Is there an easy way ti insert an accent on a character in
LyX? Something simple like ctrl-X-e for example to put an accent grave
on an e?

I'm not sure exactly how to do this. I couldn't find any reference to
caption under LAYOUT-->>DOCUMENT,PARAGRAPH,ETC. Do I need to do this in
the preamble?

I am using LyX 1.2.0. It works great with my old lyx 1.1.x documents...
However, I am unable to insert a figure/table float WITH A CAPTION.
Captions appear from floats created with previous lyx versions!? I

I just upgraded to lyx 1.2 and am using sixpack to pipe in my bibtex
refrences. However lyx 1.2 doesn't seem to like it. Previous versiona
were ok. A background error message I get is:
