maybe you can solve your problem with this hints:
Open the Lyx dialog "Layout" and here
"LaTex-Preamble"
Add the following lines:
\usepacakage{german}
\usepackage[latin1]{inputenc}
If it still doesn´t work try the SuSe Support Database
at www.suse.de

Hi,
Does someone know a way to ask LyX to output the characters with
accents in the format \'e rather than the latin1 encoded character? I
need it because here in the institute the cmr fonts which are installed
don't have these characters.
