I had already radically shortened the LYX file. The preamble now too. I am enclosing both of these with this mail.
And I don't work with Makeindex because I can use texindy to enforce a DUDEN order in the subject index. If you can tell me how I can do this with Makeindex, I might be able to swi

On MacOS it’s not /tmp if you don’t set the path explicitly to /tmp.
