Hi all,
I'm trying to use the Elsart style/class, which is still pretty tricky.
I want to put an ERT into the \begin{frontmatter}..\end{frontmatter}
section, but I don't know how.
An ERT in a Standard environment terminates the frontmatter section and
the front matter after it doesn't get output

Hi all,
I have an annoying conflict and was hoping it is straightforward to
resolve.
1) new document
2) add to the preamble "\usepackage[cdot,thickqspace,amssymb]{SIunits}"
3) add an ERT "\unit{10}{\micro\metre}"
You should be able to generate a PDF.
4) change document class to "article (Elsevi
Hi all,
is there a "right" way to handle article numbers in BibTeX? Such as with
journals like Applied Physics Letters where you don't refer to page
numbers, but article numbers instead. Just use pages="xxx" like with
page numbers?
Have fun,
Darren
Hi all,
this is most likely a LaTeX issue but since I don't know what to do
about it I thought I'd ask.
Create a document of the Article(Elsevier) class (elsart.cls). Add an
Author environment. Type a list of names.
When I generate a PDF I see the author list continue off the right edge

Also only one developer, minimum inline documentation

I don't think I spent any more than three seconds on it and hadn't
considered it to be anything other than a little colourful. I was

Hi all,
long time no see!
You may recall that I hung out on this list until early 2003, when I
disappeared to do a PhD in physics.
Now I'm starting to write up my thesis you can expect to see me here
again! I'm looking forward to seeing all the development work that went
on while I was gone :P
ripts and there must be a few things that could be done better.
Have fun,

Dear list,
I've followed the LyX User Guide in trying to embed LaTeX in my xfig
figures. But it doesn't work.
I get a blank space the size of the figure. The command line output of
view->ps says the name of my-figure.eps is not found, although the other
files are found in the temp dir. Is this so
Marco,
I am trying the same thing as you, so thanks for asking the question =)
I get the same as you, it doesn't appear.
Do I need to install the class with latex as well, or should LyX do all
that?
Have fun,
Darren

Dear lists,
I have just finished an enormous piece of work using LyX (my first
*important* document done using LyX).
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to those who have helped me
in any way over the past few weeks. I really mean it, I would have come
up against a brick wall if I had to

Dear list,
I know how to insert an hfill. I want something like that, but for a
fixed space (like a good ol' tab stop =)
Have fun,
Darren
Dear list,
Is there an easy way to tell a table to grow up to the width given by
the margins, and then become automatically fixed-width after that?
I have a table that fits on the page but I only just found out that it
violates my margins - if it automatically went to fixed width at that
point I
possible.
I figure this is possible in ps, just subtract text and add box objects
- but I have no idea how to do it.
Are there any editors I can get my hands on that will do that?
Thanks heaps!
Have fun,
