This is normal behavior. Just compile the file twice after compiling the .bib
file. Roughly:
Pdflatex file.tex
Bibtex file.tex
Pdflatex file.tex
Pdflatex file.tex

Right click on the float -> settings -> span columns
Hope that helps

Hi, hopefully somebody can help me,
How to span that table/image over two columns in IEEE style paper?
Thank you in advance.

Forgive my ignorance, how can I convert my xymatrix to .eps?
I found the following way:
1.for each xymatrix create a separate lyx file.
2. export each file to .tex
3. run latex fileName
4. run dvips -E -o fileName.eps fileName.dvi
I found this tedious if I have 10 xymatrix figures, is there ano
Hi,
is there anyway to comment figures or text in lyx?
for text I know the % character in ERT
but I do not know how to comment figures in Lyx.
by comment I mean simply do not show them in the output file.
Thanks,
~Eisa
, all citation links are now shown with the correct list of references.

I experienced exactly the same with AAAI format.
see this http://www.mail-archive.com/lyx-users@lists.lyx.org/msg78730.html,
it's about AAAI package.
here's what I did:
1.In Lyx, export to latex (plain)
2.pdflatex fileName
3.bibtex fileName
4.pdflatex fileName
5.pdflatex fileName
you need to comp
though I am relatively new to Lyx but I think it's easy to do references on
this awesome app.
1.maintain a file with Bibtex references.
(you can just copy/paste the Bibtex in the website where you get the paper/book)
2.name the file and save it with .bib extension
3. in Lyx, go insert->List/TOC-
with my thesis that's why i'm trying to find a solution
without installing packages.
Cheers,

Thank you Waluyo.
This works great for sections.
However, this will add an extra dot for the subsections.
I ended up having something like this:
1. Introduction
1..1 Problem Definition
instead of
1. Introduction
1.1 Problem Definition
Thanks.

Hello,
I am writing in Article class and the default numbering is:
1 Introduction
I need to insert a dot after the section number like
1. Introduction
is there a way to do this?
Thanks,
~Eisa
Hello,
I know this kind of weird question.
My Lyx file has no mathematical equations (just plain text+ list of figures+
some algorithms).
is there a way for converting my Lyx file to MS word?
Thanks,
~Eisa
My school requires that I've 1.5 inch margin on the left side and 1 inch in all
other margins.
I checked Document->Settings->Page Margins.
There is entry listed for left margin.
How can I possibly do that in Lyx version 1.6.8 ?
Eisa.
Oh, thanks Paul,
yes the empty column did the trick
for the second one i need to play around to get it done.
actually I need them in separate box. I will look into the array stuff i think
it might do the trick.
Thanks,

values ) something like:
[1,2,3] [4,5,6]
