Changing date in letter

I want to write a letter in advance of when I am sending it but the letter standard grabs the system date. What kind of ERT do I need to use for a static date. Kent Kostuk

I was instructed to try opening yap: that worked. I was then instructed to compile the attached file from a console: that worked. I then checked if miktex was in my path. I see c:\texmf\miktex\bin in my path. Anyone have another suggestion? Kent

PDF margin growth

I have noticed that when I create a PDF and thend print it the margins are larger (and consequently the text is smaller) than if I printed the document directly. I don't have this problem when I create and then print a PS file. This is not strictly a LyX problem, as I have noticed this when I

I have been away for awhile and have not been able to try/report on all the suggestions that have been given to me. A quick recap. I updated my debian based distribution (Libranet) and now I can not export a PDF or PS version of my LyX files. I also can not view a DVI or print my LyX files.

Can't find LyX installation

I have a style file that follows my university's standard layout, and can't figure out how to include include it in Lyx.  I found reference to a style file in the LyX and the LaTeX preamble section of the User's Guide but I couldn't make out where to install the file.
