As much as I enjoy working in LyX, whenever I have to insert a table
I cringe.
My current problem: I want to break the text in the tables into lines,
so I set the fixed cell width and the text does break, The problem is,
that all the cells in that coloumn become the same height as the title
ywhere, so perhaps
this is the problem.
Also, exactly where in the preamble would I place this snippet, probably
before defining the stuff in the footer? Or does it even matter where it
is placed?
Thanks,
Vlad.

chapter in the footer of the document? At the moment there is some stuf
there that I want to throw out ( I am using a university template, and I
want to take out some stuff I don't need). Here's the part of the
preamble that c
ey get all
messed up. How do I avoide this?
Thanks,
Vlad.

Hi,
I am using some graphs that I have made in Excel. The way I get them
into LyX is to, while still in Windows, paste them into Photoshop, and
then save them as an image (I have tried eps, bmp, jpg). Then, in Linux,
I insert them in a figure float as normal. in LyX the image looks great.
How

I want to number the pages up to the Chapter One using roman numerals,
i.e. the table of contents and list of figures and tables, the abstract
etc, they must all be numbered using roman numerals. How is this done?
Thanks,
V
Yeah, I have the same problem. The only way that I know to get around it
is to highlight using the shift key and the cursor keys, but it does get
tedious when you have to highlight a lot of text. Maybe someone else
knows a better way? I already set the "mousewheel scrolls" setting to 1
line in
is could be added to your lyx help pages?

I am quite new to using LyX. So far the transition from windows and Word
has been amazing, I am enjoying my work much more and I find that I am
much more productive. However, one problem crept up today - I have a
large number of pdf files which have diagrams in them, and I need to use
