Answer:

Yes you can do this. Your ascii-file should be a tab-separated-value
file (this means have a tab between cells and CR between rows). Then
you just have to create a table which is as large as the file you want
to input. After this go into the first cell of the table (or in that cell
where you want start the import) and use Inser->Import Ascii File->As Lines
