pb (with accents?) in index entries

Hi, I just updated to 1.6 on OS X 10.5.5, and I can't visualize my former documents that contain indexes (which I could do on 1.5). I'm writing in french, so I suspect the pb is related to accents (some index entries contain accents). The message I got says : Latex error: there's no line
