A better way to handle XFig files .fig's is to use the External Inset,
In this inset you add the .fig file and it will add the tex and image
automatically, if it doesn't then it's a single script change to make it
work.

I've got big problems with pstex figures inclusion.
If you follow the tips number 3 of the section 4.3.2 of the
user's guide, it doesn't work. So I went on the mail-archive.
I do the following steps.
In XFig, I export my figure as combined PS/Latex
I rename the file myfig.pstex_t -> myfig
