For getting texlive 2017 in my Debian Jessie installed I have removed my old 2016 texlive . This removed also pyxplot. If I try to reinstall it via synaptic or apt, the system wants to install texlive and other packages, which are already in my texlive (/usr/local/texlive/2017/...), see > How
