Communication error generally refers to the cable check. So either you dont
have full null wiring or you need to loop back dtr/dsr.

I am using a prolific pl2303 adaptor. I have not been able to get the
driver: Prolific's Taiwanese web site is down, and whenever download a file
the driver is not in the zip. Windowsreport.com talks about menu option
