I finally did a side by side with my 102 and 8201 using an identical 17k text
file and testing all sorts of scrolling, searching ect. No difference at all.
Only in BASIC is there a difference due to the default integer difference.

I know that,
I know that, in default, the BASIC is way faster. The NEC 8201 defaults to
single precision in BASIC whereas the Model 100 does it all in double
precision unless told otherwise.
