Hi Will,
You're explanation is not very helpful. What exactly are you trying to move and
how are you trying to do it? Under which OS?
If you could provide us with a little more information, we might be more able
to help.
Hope all is well apart from that.
Take care

I believe, that if I'm correct, that when safemode is enabled, OS 10 only uses
what it needs to boot up, and does not boot up any sound drivers or anything
like that.

You're correct, however there has gotta be a way to manually enable the
audio service. there just has! to be. That would be silly not. Let me do
some digging around, and will then post the exact steps on how to do it and
get it up and working if there be a way, which as I said, there should
thanks as could get loads of us out of situations smile

Hi Will,
I think I read somewhere that although sound drivers are not loaded in safe
mode, a Braille Display should work with VO. I could have imagined reading this
though.
Also, I am not sure if your problems are due exclusively to the fact that you
have an SSD? I would think that there are
I just need to figure out what kext files have to be loaded and how in
terminal to do so. Give me some time. It may take a day or so for me to
figure this one out, as this is a tuffy, but I'll do what I can, no promises
though.

Hi Chris, that would certainly be nice if you could do that. That way if I or
any other person that can't see had to go into this mode, they had a way to do
it without sighted assistance. Thanks very much! Oh, it would also be nice if
there were a way to do an Internet install of OS X without

Yeah the wifi part is not accessible, but I just created a flash drive as even

huh? No you don't need to do that. just create the partition in the boot camp
utility in the utilities folder, hit space on continue and then ask for sited
help as when the cd boots up you have to go to advanced then format and have
them choose ntms on the partition that boot camp will be
the utility though not letting me create the partition

I'm not sure about the Braille display. I know VoiceOver does not load at
all. When OS X safe-boots, it doesn't load any third-party items, such as
KEXTs, launch agents, launch daemons, startup items, fonts, any user login
items, or any user-specific launch agents.
When you are in Save
Hi John,
You're right, in SUM, VO does not load. I woner if there would be a way of
installing SpeakUP or some other flavour of a Linux/UNIX Screen Reader given
that OS X is built on and is UNIX compliant. But I think that might be outside
of the scope of this list.

I would leave that question to someone more versed with that. The problem,
though, would be that it still would not load in Safe Mode. Single User mode
would probably be the best avenue for that.

Hi all,
This does sound interesting. I've never had to boot my Mac up in Safe
Mode, but I can see why it wouldn't load any sound drivers, and so on.
The exact same is said for the other OS. I normally usually use
recovery mode to try and get me out of situations like these, although

We have no data plan on our cell phones. In fact, our iphones don't
even have cell service, but the gps programs still work. We tried
the one that comes with the iphone, called maps, and it worked just
fine. I'm not sure how accessible it is, as I myself didn't try it,

Hi.
I hate it when it takes a while for the app to be released in the UK.
It's annoying how the UK and US have a different App Store. That GPS
App does sound good though!
Cheers.
