I always enteracted with numbers, by doing v o down arrow twice. After that,
all I had to do was use the arrow keys or tab, to go from one cell the next.

I have added Daniel to my list of voices in mavericks , but when i go to select
him , I get Daniel compact , and just Daniel .
Ive gone into the voices table, and Daniel compact is not selected.

heading when in the rotor. This is independent of whether I’m in DOM or Groups
mode.

That is VoiceOver giving you additional information on the photo you
are currently viewing. It also gives you this additional information
when you are about to take a picture.
Hints does not remove this functionality. I don't know how to remove
at this moment.

google has the habbit of highlighting any search terms in the search

This is the case for me. I note however that the cmd-option-(arrow) does go to
top/bottom, but it changes column for me. In other words, if we assume an NXM
table, then this keystroke either puts me in row 1 col 1 or row n col. m.
