Hello Jim,
Posting this again, since apparently my reply went to Leo, rather than the
list. (Grrr… have to figure out how to reconfigure my devices).
I thought that the holiday calendar was selected automatically once you
selected your region and languages under System Preferences > Language &
Hello,
While I don’t know how to get it in Mavricks for the Mac, I do remember that on
AppleVis there was a very helpful podcast on how to get various types of
calendars. Through that podcast I got one for Canadian Holidays and for one of
the teams I follow.
Check out:

Hmm. I never saw that in mavericks. I just have the ones I created. Where did
you hear this calendar was going to be in mavericks? I might have missed it
when I last checked up on the key notes.

Hi Eileen,
I think what I read is that some people purchased from the Mac App store, and
then contacted the developer to use the present version, and were given a
serial number to use in the version that they downloaded from the developer's
web site, which is version 4, because the update still
Hi Esther,
When going through all these posts, I am just getting to this one. My question
to you before I seriously think about purchasing Mac Gourmet is if I purchase
it through the Mac Ap store will there be an update from version 3 to version
4? Maybe I wasn't making the connection in the m
Yep indeed! now that you mention all this I think I may have received an eMail
explaining all this a little while ago.

Hmm, a little dishonest but I can sort of see where they're coming from, the
developers want you to buy from their web site rather than from the App store.

I have both and in some ways Mac Gourmet is more extensive than Paprika.
I use and wouldn't be without both.

You show great courage and patience , once upon a long ago I had my
recipes in text files - hundreds of text files - but I've found a recipe
manager to be a far easier way of dealing with hundreds of recipes and the
whole thing is even better now we have our friend Google, just looking for

Hi Esther,
Many thanks indeed for this. I’ve been using the Paprika manager for a while
now and really like it. I love the browser/search facility. However there are
certain features of the MacGourmet deluxe that I like, such as the ones you
mention.
Cheers,

Hi Dónal,
I read one of the reviews that said they had contacted the developer, and that
the new version was still pending approval from Apple. However, in the
meantime in response to the contact, the dev had supplied them with a separate
serial number so they could download and use the versio
Oops thanks Esther I’d missed that. That isn’t clever on their part really…

Hi Dónal,
I posted that MacGourmet deal to AppleVis, but I feel ambiguous about the
developers' intentions, because a check just now shows that the version they
are placing on "sale" is version 3, and they have upgraded (if you buy from
their web site directly, at full price) to version 4. (I
I love paprika. I have debated and debated buying Mac Gourmet Deluxe for ages.
If someone can convince me it does things better/differently to Paprika I’ll
happily get it because I’m something of a cooking nerd. :-)
thanks for posting this.

Do you have any documentation on how to get EmacSpeak to work on the Mac? Does
it work with Mac voices?
