hi to all i am running a spell check on my mac in a document and i note 2 oddities 1. a replace all is not available as in windows, for a word i change that may appear again and 2. why can i not read a miss spelt word in context i.e. the surrounding text? any thoughts, please?

You missunderstand me I think. This has nothing to do with Disk Usility at all. It simply creates a bootable disk with the currently installed operating system as its base. As for erasing your hard drive, that is not possible. OS X will not permit you to erase the current boot device.

You can use the free Mac Daisy Book Reader called Olearia. This is limited to Audio Files and has few bells and whistles but is free. Read Here is apparently good but a very expensive option. It is probably cheaper to buy Fusion and use a free Windows option but that is off topic so I will not

Generally on the Mac I never use actual spell check. Rather I use command semi colon whilst in the edit text to jump to the next misspelt word which is automatically highlighted. You can then use VO to read the line in context. You can also easily pull down a context menu which contains
