Hi all
As part of the fix process for our mail system, I need to log into our machine
as “root” I always thought that once at the log-in screen, you could simply use
“Root” as the user ID, and “root” as the password. Apparently, this isn’t the
case any longer; although our old Snow Leopard
Hello everybody
I know this is a little late, but I’ve been so busy I can’t believe it.
Anyway, I’ll put this up for download locally shortly and send the link to the
group.

Hi Jim
As I said, I am sorry this is so late. But I’ll make it available very
shortly, as in today, you have my word on that. :)

It still is, but I can use it. The way I do it is quite simple. Lynne

machine (to which we have an alias) and it loads, simple as that. The nice

Hi Colin
Correct. But as I indicated in a previous post, I can use Parallels too, once
the VM is configured. My better half configured it all for me, and just put an
alias on our desktop. And then, away we go.
Of course, I am comparing Fusion with Parallels 10 which is the current release.
We need to be a little careful here folks. I see this thread possibly
wondering down the Windows road, which we do not want.
Regarding your machine, if you have sufficient memory, take the former option.

Thanks, Gordon. Trying to stay away from that thread going in that
direction, but there are times when the other OS is necessary for some of us.
And yes, I have more than enough memory, 8GB. Thanks for the help.

Hi, Folks. Sorry to bring the other OS into the mix, but I have a
problem. I need to copy pictures to a DVD that can be accessed by a
Mac. Unfortunately, the photos and videos are on a PC. I burned a
DVD on that machine, but when I put it into my MacBook Pro, it just
spun and spun, and

It's how mail works now. Just move the item and it will move and I think copy
the temp to trash is how I think that works. Just make sure it's there before
clearing your trash.
Take care.

Whether necessary or not, this isn’t really the place to discuss Windows. We do
run a sister group where that is permissible, of course. Windows-Access would
naturally bring one to assume same.
As it happens, I too must use that OS for work, but only for work related
issues. I

Your default format should be fine, so I’d suspect you changed something when
you burned the DVD. What did you expect to happen when you inserted it into
your MacBook Pro? Are you not able to see the volume you burned at all?

Work arounds aside, it is a bug and Apple needs to be bugged to fix it.
I did speak with the Apple engineer and he said that it will continue to
be reported as a bug and likely will be fixed within one of the updates
to iOS 8 that will be released in the next few weeks. I had the feeling

I already reported in the public cycle. They said they would look in to it. I
heard that they have a dedicated team to close duplicate bug reports so if all
of are bus are being closed due to being duplicates I see no point in reporting
the bugs I've been reporting. I still do it though.
