Hello everybody
Just to let you know that the Mac Access Server will be unavailable for a
period of time which I would estimate at around a couple of hours, from approx.
12:00 BST, (11:00 UTC) today, Monday 22 September 2014.
This is to permit us to perform essential work on the system which
Hi Travis
OK, yes, I did know about the sudo command. But the developer of an app
requires SSH root access to one of our systems. That’s why I requested root
access.
On one of our machines I can actually log in as root, but that machine is where
this server is running and I need to do some
Ever since I updated my Iphone 5, I hear this hiss whenever VO is speaking.
Also, the sound effects seem to drop in volume. I didn’t notice the drop in
volume until I opened Seven little words for the first time after the update.
Has anyone else heard these differences? For now, I’ve just
rm filename or rm -r folder name if that is what you are looking for.
It helps to cd to the dir wherein your stuff is.

Hi,
I’m looking for a simple audio recorder that runs on Mac OS X. I’d like to
record spoken text with the internal microphone of my Mac or maybe with an
external mic.
Do you know such an app which is also good useable with VoiceOver?
Thanks and regards from the Oktoberfest Munich :-),

Hello,
Just downloaded Smart Recorder. It’s a free download from the app store. Works
nicely with VoiceOver.

The idea is to directly touch the letter then it will be inserted hence the
name direct touch typing. It works similar to Fleksy but without the word
prediction capabilities.

Hi,
thanks for the tip with QuickTime and SmartRecorder. SmartRecorder is simpel
and cool, but I miss one feature. It is possible to append new recordings to an
existing recording, but unfortunatly it is not possible to insert it the new
recording at a place in the middle, only to the end.
I don't know of one for mac that's simple and lets' sou do tht, how ever ht pro
recorder sort of lets you do this in a round about way.
Take care.

You can probably only get a 4s second hand or refurbished as Apple stopped
selling them as of the launch of the iPhone 6/6+. The oldest phone you can get
now is the 5c which is a rebranded 5 but with a plastic shell and a choice of
several colours hence the c. iOS 8 is the latest and probably
Hi All, I wonder if anyone knows if there is a possability of using a CCTV
with the Mac to get large print. I have a Topas CCTV manufactured by
Freedom Scientific. When used on a PC with JAWS, also produced by Freedom

Hmm I think there is a magnify feature, but having not used it I can't really
say how it works. Can someone on the list maybe suggest how this could be done
if the CCTV were hooked up by DVI?

No, I hear the slight hiss in all the apps. I think I noticed it before I
opened SLW.
It’s not really a problem, I just don’t think I’ve heard the noise before the
update.

I have a 5, and may give my 5 to my son and get a 4S.
The phones keep getting bigger, and I think the 5 is too big, and the 4S is

Yes, I found this out quite by accident. And by doing a tiny bit of reading

Rm will happily remove files for you, though it should be used
sparingly, since a bad rm command could wipe your entire hd, though it
would take some serious coincidence to make it happen by accident. mv
will move files, cp will copy them, and (on osx at least) pushd and
popd will save

Hi Glen I have not felt the size of each yet.
I guess it depends on what we want the phone for.
I just thought for the money the 4s would be good I don't want just the 4

Michael,
If you have felt a 4, the 4S is the same size.
With the 5, the camera sticks out of the shirt pocket.
I suppose to some that could be a good thing, but for me, the top of the
phone should not stick out of the pocket.
