Hi all -
Since installing Yosemite, in the email app, new messages are no longer
reported as unread; instead, VO says ‘image’, and when I cursor away and back
to the message, VO doesn’t say image again, but blank, as if the message has
been read. How do I get back the notification that says
Could someone please remind me how to move through the Inbox on each of the
2 e-mail accounts? Thanks.

Now I am ending up with lots of duplicate folders and am wondering how I
would tidy up all of this. All the tracks have indeed got imported in to
iTunes so I am pleased about that but it seems crazy having (I think) 3

Make sure the inbox folder is collapsed, and you will see all the emails from

underneath you will see the individual accounts.
Take care.

I'm so used to that now I just ignore it. I think they took it away. In fact I
discuss this in my glance at mail in 10.10 tutorial which will be available
Monday all willing.

Expand the mail box folder. All of your inboxes will be under there.

Can I play .mp3 files on the Mac without going through iTunes? Will
it play .wma files? If I paste my music library from the PC, mostly
.mp3 files but a few .wma's, into the iTunes library, will iTunes
convert them or do I have to do something??? I have a .midi folder I
would like to
The freeware VLC media player will play both mp3 and WMA files and pretty
much any other music or video format.
You can get a plug in for iTunes to play WMA but personally I do not bother.
I use VLC as my default player from Finder and simply open iTunes if I want to
play media from within
david, is there a way to make VLC player play all the music in a folder,
like you could with Winamp? I use it as my default also, on my Mac. but I
have to open each song I want to hear. any help will be greatly appreciated!

Yes there are two ways.
1. The way I prefer is to open the folder in finder, press command A to select
all and then command down arrow.
If VLC is your default player it will open all the files as a temporary
playlist and you can navigate through the files using command left and right
arrow..
thank you very much! I couldn't figure out how! you have been a great help!
This e-mail goes into my storage folder, to be referred to quite often,
until I have memorized how to do this.

That is worth me filing it too, now another question for David or whoever,

should I do that please and how should I save it?

I have not actually done this completely but I believe the following will work
in VLC.
This all assumes vLC has ben set as your default MP3 player.
1. Go to the first tracks you want to add to your playlist in finder. Select
each track and press command down arrow to open them.
2. VLC will open
if I save a playlist in this way,is that duplicating my tracks?I just don't
want to keep duplicating and taking up more space.

VLC and flip for mac is the best bet for playing everything under the sun. Flip
for mac will handle the wma decode and vlc is just an all around awsome music
player.
Take care.

You would do the same thing via vlc. Just keep queueing tracks up and they will
save. then save as a playlist.
Take care.

The playlist is just a text file which points the media player to the tracks
you want to play.
By the way I have just tested this method and it worked perfectly so it will
definitely do what you want.

going to be released in 2 days, that being Monday, and I went to boot in to my
newly made install. First, holding down the C key did not work like it should
have.
Second once I did manage to get booted in to the
