question. I had no problem with this on my lion system. Perhaps you should
verify the parameters to use with the man say command.

If you just need a quick packet dump then the tcpdump utility available from
Emacsspeak with emacs will work if you are geeky. There is also Sandbox (or is
it sandvox) which is fairly useful.
