If you want to do word processing, Pages is free on newer macs. Pages is
accessible with VoiceOver.

OK so in step 4, after the pop-up button is activated, there should be an
option that says Applications or Other. Activate that and a list of all
applications in the Applications folder will show up. Find VLC in that list.

If you have a newer Mac, Pages is free. It can export into Word and other
formats. Unlike Libre Office, it doesn't separate every paragraph into a
separate VoiceOver group.
